Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a full-time Cook in Milpitas to prepare and present hot and cold dishes for all meals and events. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while maintaining a clean workstation. Training and benefits are provided as part of our comprehensive program.

The role requires reading recipes, following directions, and contributing to a collaborative kitchen team. Physical stamina is needed, with shifts that may vary by account.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to current standards and guidelines to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other items.
• Estimate food requirements and check production to plan supplies and equipment.
• Walk or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
• Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
