Job summary

As a Cook I with Sodexo at Bellarmine University, you will prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold items for all meals and events in a fast-paced kitchen. You will work to Sodexo’s culinary standards and maintain a clean workstation while focusing on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and directions for preparing, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility, and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards during all tasks.
