Job summary

IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis is seeking a dietary support role to assist in meal preparation for regular and therapeutic diets. The position involves supervised food prep, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and operating kitchen equipment.

Candidates should be able to work 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with rotating weekends and holidays; health regulations and protective gear are required. High school diploma preferred; experience not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
• No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

Position Details:

Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Schedule: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Rotating weekends and holidays required.

Shift Differentials: Eligible for weekends and holidays.
