Description

Schedule: Sunday thru Thursday 12 PM - 7:30 PM

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Effective communication skills with residents and staff.
  • Ability to tactfully interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • 1-2 years of cooking experience.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in food preparation for all meals and snacks, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Complete food production and service in a timely manner.
  • Understand and accommodate specific therapeutic dietary needs.
  • Collaborate with the Food Service Director to maintain therapeutic diets, ensure nutritional meals, and comply with health regulations.
  • Maintain food service equipment, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning.
  • Report for shifts in uniform and on time.
  • Coordinate with Food Service Director and managers for food service events, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Coordinate meal schedules with Assisted Living, Day Program Directors, and Nurse Coordinator to ensure timely meal service.
  • Keep dietary storage areas organized and clean.
  • Conduct pre-meal meetings on menu items, ingredients, food handling, and service instructions.
  • Monitor food safety practices, complete temperature logs, and daily reports.
  • Store leftovers safely and immediately after meals.
  • Communicate dietary needs for special functions and events, ensuring schedule adherence.
  • Report issues affecting the Food Service Department to the Food Service Director.
  • Attend staff orientations, meetings, and in-services.
  • Maintain temperature sheets and daily cooks reports.
  • Participate in community events when required, ensuring quality presentation and service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
