We are looking for a Full-time Dining Services Manager. (Weekends & Holidays are required).

We are looking for a Full-time Cook - Weekends and Holidays are required.

This cook position is responsible for resolving issues and serving as a link between Dining, Dietary, and upper management. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual who will be able to guide and maintain professional examples in a gracious, hospitable environment. The cook will be well-versed in processes under the role’s responsibility and will be results-driven and focused.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor food prep, plating, recipes, activities along with other cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen workers.
  2. Maintain new cooking techniques and utilize all kitchen equipment.
  3. Plan menus, requisition food and kitchen supplies.
  4. Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
  5. Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, making dressings, preparing sauces, cooking to proper temperatures).
  6. Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  7. Cook meals to order.
  8. Monitor and taste food created by other cooks and take accountability for food coming out of the kitchen.
  9. Cleanup & sanitize food prep area and kitchen.
  10. Stock inventory appropriately.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  12. Directly supervise food-service associates as a role model in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  13. Coach and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
  14. Train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance.
  15. Advise management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
  16. Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, consistency, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
  17. Store, label, and date food items according to policy; maintain established food rotations in storage to minimize spoilage and waste.
  18. Follow all safety guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  19. Operate food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
  20. Create meals and remain present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.
  21. Educate Dining/Dietary employees on kitchen procedures and meal ingredients, providing a welcoming harmonious environment for front of the house and back of the house.
