Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Cook in DeKalb, IL to prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold dishes across meal periods and events. You will follow Sodexo culinary standards, ensure safety, and maintain a clean workstation in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook and present a variety of hot and cold food items for all meal periods and events.
• Follow recipes and/or product directions to ensure high-quality food.
• Estimate food requirements and check production to plan production needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Uphold food safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced kitchen.
