Job summary

IHOP in Hancock, MD is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our fast-paced team at the Hancock Truckstop Restaurant. You will report to the General Manager and help prepare meals to IHOP standards.

This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities with benefits and opportunities for advancement, while supporting a guest-focused dining experience in a busy breakfast and casual dining setting.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are required.
• Mobility required during the entire shift.
• Work as part of a team and help in other areas if needed.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time in a clean and complete proper uniform.
• Greet all customers with a smile and a verbal greeting, "Good Morning" or "Welcome to IHOP"
• Prepare food in a timely manner to IHOP standards.
• Complete the position checklist while stocking and preparing the unit for the next shift.
• Using all tools provided by the manager keep the work area clean at all times.
• Bring all items of concern to the attention of the manager immediately, especially safety concerns and customer service complaints
• Know the menu, the daily features when applicable and be sure they are cooked and presented correctly.
• Know your duties and the duties of coworkers to maximize teamwork throughout the day.
• Practice all rules for safety food handling, cash security, and all other restaurant policies.
• Perform all prepping and cleaning duties as detailed or assigned by supervisor
• Make a difference in food cost by controlling waste and portion control.
• Communicate effectively with other team members.
• Have a positive attitude during your shift.
