Job summary

Filling Memorial Home Of Mercy Inc in Napoleon, Ohio, seeks a Cook/Dietary Aide to prepare meals according to menus and resident diets, and to serve meals while ensuring nutrition and portion control.

You will supervise a dietary aide, work the 2nd shift from 11:00am to 7:00pm, follow recipes, coordinate with staff, attend meetings, and keep equipment and work areas clean in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow directions and standardized recipes.
• Must have good communication, comprehension and writing skills.
• Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
• Must be able to interact with others in a positive manner and maintain harmonious working relationships.
• Must be in good physical condition and maintain a neat appearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to the menu and make substitutions only to optimize food use while preserving calorie value and nutrition.
• Ensure food is served at appropriate temperatures and in appropriate portions.
• Economical use of equipment and supplies while following the menu and physician’s orders.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Attend all departmental and facility meetings and supervise the dietary aide.
• Work on scheduled days and times, and assist during emergencies as needed.
• Clean equipment used for meal preparation during the shift.
• Perform other projects or duties as assigned.

Position Title: Cook/Dietary AideLocation: Main Campus - NapoleonHours: Full-time 2nd shift, 11:00am – 7:00pmJob Summary: Preparation of meals according to menu and serving of meals in accordance with individual resident’s diet.Responsibilities:Prepare food on menu, making substitutions in menu only to make best use of food, supplies, and to maintain equivalent calorie value and nutritional quality.Ensure that food is served in appropriate quantity, at appropriate temperatures and in a form consistent with the developmental level of the resident.Economical use of equipment and food supplies to prepare an attractive and nutritionally adequate meal following the menu and physician’s orders.Cooperate with other departments within the facility to insure nutritional and dietary needs of residents are met.Attend all departmental and facility in-service meetings.
