Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, VA, is seeking a culinary professional to prepare soups and sauces and to work across broiler, sauté, banquet, and pantry stations. The role requires knowledge of basic cooking techniques and adherence to sanitation standards.

As a non-exempt, hourly position, you may be eligible for overtime. Upon hiring, you enter probationary status and may become benefit eligible after probation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year culinary apprenticeship or culinary associate degree.
• Experience in a restaurant specializing in continental or classical cuisine may substitute for the apprenticeship or associate degree.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and adherence to sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares soups and sauces (cream, vegetable and clear soups and cream, brown and tomato sauces).
• Works broiler, sauté, banquet and pantry stations as necessary.
• Uses basic cooking methods including sautéing, braising, broiling, stewing and baking.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
