LLE Education Group in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our early childhood education team in Midlothian. You will develop weekly menus, manage kitchen supplies, and ensure meals meet nutritional and safety standards for our children.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, cooking experience in childcare or education, knowledge of child nutrition, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while meeting licensing and safety requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and follow health regulations.
• Keep records of food purchases, meal counts, and dietary restrictions.
• Prepare meals and snacks according to planned menu.
• Ensure food is cooked safely and meets sanitation protocols.
• Ensure menus meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Interact with children in a positive and friendly manner.

What You’ll Do

• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and balanced
• Keep track of food supplies and place orders as needed, managing kitchen budget effectively
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records of food purchases, meal counts, and any dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Prepare and cook meals and snack according to the planned menu
• Ensure food is cooked safely and in accordance with sanitation protocols
• Ensure menus meet dietary requirements
• Ensure proper storage, handling of food, portion control and dietary needs
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Interact with children in a positive and friendly manner.

What You Bring

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or educational setting
• A genuine love for children and desire to make a positive impact every day
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for children
• Ability to plan and prepare meals for large groups
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work hours based on the needs of the school and program
• Ability to meet Virginia licensing standards and pass a background check
• Certification in food safety and handling (preferred)
• Physical requirements include standing for long periods, sitting, bending, lifting heavy items up to (50lbs), and working in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to pass a successful background check.

Compensation…

The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.

The pay range listed is what we in good faith anticipate offering for this job position.
