Job summary

LLE Education Group in North Stafford, VA is seeking a dedicated Cook to join The Merit School family. You’ll plan nutritious menus, prepare meals for children, and ensure safe, sanitary kitchen operations in a childcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook, preferably in childcare or educational settings.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for children.
• Ability to plan and prepare meals for large groups.
• Virginia licensing standards and pass a background check.
• Food safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and balanced.
• Keep track of food supplies and place orders, managing kitchen budget.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of food purchases, meal counts, and dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to the planned menu.
• Ensure food is cooked safely and in accordance with sanitation protocols.
• Ensure menus meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure proper storage, handling of food, portion control and dietary needs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Interact with children in a positive and friendly manner.

What You Bring…

Compensation…

• The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.
• The pay range listed is what we in good faith anticipate offering for this job position.
• Actual compensation within this range will be determined by several factors, including a candidate’s experience, education and training, certifications, geographic location and other relevant organization and business factors.
