Job summary

LLE Education Group in Midlothian, VA is seeking a Cook to plan and prepare nutritious meals for children in our educational settings. The role emphasizes safe kitchen practices and adherence to dietary requirements while contributing to a positive, caring school environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior cooking experience, preferably in childcare, with knowledge of nutrition and a passion for supporting young learners.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for children.
• Ability to plan and prepare meals for large groups.
• Certification in food safety and handling (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and balanced.
• Keep track of food supplies and place orders as needed, managing kitchen budget effectively
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records of food purchases, meal counts, and any dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to the planned menu
• Ensure food is cooked safely and in accordance with sanitation protocols
• Ensure menus meet dietary requirements
• Ensure proper storage, handling of food, portion control and dietary needs
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Interact with children in a positive and friendly manner.

Compensation…

The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 - $18.00 per hour. The pay range listed is what we in good faith anticipate offering for this job position. Actual compensation within this range will be determined by several factors, including a candidate’s experience, education and training, certifications, geographic location and other relevant organization and business factors.
