Job summary

LLE Education Group in Prince William County, VA is seeking a motivated Cook to support early childhood programs with nutritious meals and careful food handling.

You will develop weekly menus, manage supplies, and work closely with staff to meet licensing and safety standards while engaging with children in a positive way.

This full-time role offers weekday hours and a benefits package that supports professional growth and family needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for children.
• Ability to plan and prepare meals for large groups.
• Ability to meet Virginia licensing standards and pass a background check.
• Certification in food safety and handling (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and balanced.
• Keep track of food supplies and place orders as needed, managing kitchen budget effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of food purchases, meal counts, and any dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to the planned menu.
• Ensure food is cooked safely and in accordance with sanitation protocols.
• Ensure menus meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure proper storage, handling of food, portion control and dietary needs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Interact with children in a positive and friendly manner.

What You Bring

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.

The pay range listed is what we in good faith anticipate offering for this job position.

Actual compensation within this range will be determined by several factors, including a candidate’s experience, education and training, certifications, geographic location and other relevant organization and business factors.
