Job summary

LLE Education Group in Midlothian, VA is seeking a dedicated Cook to support our early childhood programs, preparing nutritious meals for young learners and fostering a safe, welcoming kitchen. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and balanced.
• Keep track of food supplies and place orders, managing kitchen budget.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
• Cook meals and snacks according to planned menus and dietary needs.
• Ensure proper storage, handling of food, and allergy management.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations while interacting positively with children.

What You Bring…

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or educational setting

• Ability to plan and prepare meals for large groups
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work hours based on the needs of the school and program
• Ability to meet Virginia licensing standards and pass a background check
• Certification in food safety and handling (preferred)

Compensation…

The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.

The pay range listed is what we in good faith anticipate offering for this job position.

Actual compensation within this range will be determined by several factors, including a candidate’s experience, education and training, certifications, geographic location and other relevant organization and business factors.

What You’ll Do…

• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and balanced
• Keep track of food supplies and place orders as needed, managing kitchen budget effectively
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records of food purchases, meal counts, and any dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Prepare and cook meals and snack according to the planned menu
• Ensure food is cooked safely and in accordance with sanitation protocols
• Ensure menus meet dietary requirements
• Ensure proper storage, handling of food, portion control and dietary needs
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Interact with children in a positive and friendly manner.
