Job summary

HMSHost in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Cook CD – Standard responsible for preparing cooked foods across Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry and eggs; communicate ticket times and potential problems to the manager on duty and servers as necessary; performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or assigned management of which associate is capable of performing; providing the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all times.

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
• Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience; high volume or fast casual dining environment preferred
• Knowledge of soups, saute9, broiler, fry, and pantry
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand for normal job functions; work in hot environment and handle sharp utensils

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving items
• Estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment
• Practices food safety and HACCP compliance
• Operates a variety of kitchen equipment, measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, cuts and shreds fruits and vegetables
• Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
• Other duties as assigned
