Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is hiring a Cook to join our not-for-profit retirement community in Ohio. You will participate in restaurant-style menu planning, food preparation, and serving of all items to residents and guests under strict sanitary conditions.

The role requires 2–5 years cooking experience in LTC or similar settings, and education of a high school diploma or GED preferred. Benefits include medical coverage, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years cooking experience in LTC or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads menu to estimate food requirements and procures food from storage.
• Prepares and cooks food in accordance with company standards.
• Measures and mixes ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare items.
• Bakes, roasts, steams, broils, fries meats and vegetables.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment and work area.
• Coordinates with staff to prevent waste and ensure menu items are prepared properly.
