Join Our Team as a Substitute Cook Aide!

Position: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Hours: Flexible, typically between 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Are you looking for a meaningful role where you can support a positive environment for children and staff? Our Substitute Cook Aide helps keep our kitchen running smoothly while contributing to a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in preparing meals and snacks.
• Wash dishes and maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area.
• Help with table setting and meal service as needed.
• Transport food and supplies between program sites.
• Take over cooking duties in the Cook’s absence (training provided).
• Support classroom staff by washing toys and maintaining cleanliness in shared spaces.
• Keep open communication with the Cook and follow all program policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to cover varying shifts.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards is a plus.
• Commitment to the mission and philosophy of our program, including PBIS principles.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED or an eighth-grade education.
• Two years’ experience.
• Must possess a valid PA driver’s license.
