Creative Beginnings CDC in Myrtle Beach is hiring a full-time Cook to join an amazing team. You will prepare meals for children, follow CACFP guidelines, and deliver tasty, well-balanced dishes on a weekday schedule.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma; culinary school is a plus, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet. We support growth, benefits, and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; culinary school diploma is an advantage.
• Experience cooking in a commercial kitchen or childcare setting preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping, peeling, etc.).
• Cook food using various utensils, ovens and stovetops.
• Check food during cooking and stir or turn as needed.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Keep kitchen sanitized and orderly; monitor stock and place orders.
• Follow CACFP guidelines and allergy accommodations.
• Develop skill in CACFP Child and Adult Food Program.

Full Time Cook Are you looking for a position with an AMAZING TEAM? Look no further....

Our enrollment is growing daily. We need exceptional, dedicated, FUN staff to join our incredible family. Creative Beginnings CDC is accepting applications for a full time Cook with experience in CACFP Food Program preferred. We are looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals according to our menus. You will cook dishes that will delight our children with their taste in a timely delivery. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be able to move around the kitchen and multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

• Monday - Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm no nights and weekends

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or ovens and stove top
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure meals are prepared and plates are served in a timely manner
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Follow CACFP guidelines and allergy accommodations
• Ensure all food and other items are stored and organized properly after truck delivery
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
• Develop skill in CACFP Child and Adult Food Program

Skills:

• Proven experience as cook
• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills
• Excellent physical condition and stamina

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma; Diploma from Culinary School will be an advantage
• Previous experience cooking in a commercial kitchen or childcare setting preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• Passion for healthy eating and working with children
