Job summary

Ancho & Agave in Lees Summit, MO is seeking a dedicated line cook to join our scratch kitchen team. You will help prepare tacos, burritos, enchiladas and other Mexican items with emphasis on quality and consistency.

The role requires following recipes precisely, handling multiple tasks, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Weekend/evening availability is expected, with opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in scratch kitchen food prep.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
• Store food and items properly.
• Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing.
• Follow prep lists.
• Label and stock ingredients for easy access.
• Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables and cutting meat.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Cook and prepare using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, etc.
• Present and garnish final dishes.
• Handle and store ingredients and food.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and utensils.
• Execute opening and closing procedures.
• Set up workstations with required ingredients.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring ingredients and final products are fresh.
• Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly.
• Following recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
• Following prep lists.
• Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Preparing ingredients for cooking by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
• Operating equipment following safety standards.
• Baking, grilling, steaming and broiling meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods.
• Presenting, garnishing and arranging final dishes.
• Handling and storing ingredients and food.
• Maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
• Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Executing opening and closing procedures.
