Ancho & Agave in Naperville, IL is seeking a passionate line cook to join our scratch kitchen team, preparing tacos, burritos, enchiladas and other Mexican specialties.

This part-time role requires open availability, strong teamwork, accuracy with recipes, and the stamina to stand for long shifts; eligible for benefits including health insurance and 401K.

Qualificações

• Experience in food preparation in a scratch kitchen.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, including measuring and weighing.
• English language ability for communication and safety.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
• Store all food items properly and label ingredients.
• Follow recipes and prep lists accurately.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping and cutting as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, mixers).
• Bake, grill, steam, and broil meats and vegetables as required.
• Present, garnish and arrange final dishes attractively.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and stock checks.

Applicants must be friendly, hard‑working, team‑oriented, and punctual. Must be available to work consistently and always have a positive attitude.

Cook Responsibilities

• Ensuring ingredients and final products are fresh.
• Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly.
• Following recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
• Following prep lists.
• Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Preparing ingredients for cooking by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
• Operating equipment following safety standards.
• Baking, grilling, steaming and broiling meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods.
• Presenting, garnishing and arranging final dishes.
• Handling and storing ingredients and food.
• Maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
• Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Executing opening and closing procedures.
• Setting up workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
• Monitoring station inventory levels. Restocking as needed.
• Operating kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, food processors, etc.

Cook Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in food preparation in a scratch kitchen.
• Must be able to follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast‑paced environment. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
• High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
