Job summary

Asbury Communities, Inc. is hiring for a full-time kitchen assistant to support food preparation in our senior living facilities. The role involves cooking simple items, batch cooking, and following production sheets to ensure high-quality meals.

Responsibilities include supervising attendants on menu offerings, and maintaining strict food sanitation and infection control standards. Health-care kitchen experience is preferred, with a practice of inclusive, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year cooking experience, preferably in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Follow production counts on sheets and inform Chef of needed modifications or shortages.
• Instruct attendants regarding menu offerings and changes.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-Time Position


• Hours: 10am-6:30pm


• Every other weekend & every other holiday rotation required


• $17.50/hour.

Job Description

• Assists in simple recipes for hot and cold food preparation. Batch cooks items ensuring optimal food quality; i.e., scrambled eggs, french-fries, vegetables, fish, etc.


• Follows “counts” designated on production sheets as written.


• Informs Chef when a recipe or food production sheet needs to be modified and informs Chef of potential shortages.


• Instructs attendants in regard to menu offerings and/or menu changes.


• Practices standards of food sanitation, infection control, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED equivalent, required.


• 1+ year(s) cooking experience, preferably in the health care setting.
