Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Washington State Food Workers Permit required.
• Culinary School graduate preferred.
• ServSafe Food Safety Certificate preferred.
• 3 years experience in institutional cooking preferred.
• 1 year experience in food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates all kitchen equipment correctly and trains others as needed.
• Ensures that food is ready at specified times.
• Ensures that patient allergies, diet orders and preferences are followed, obtains clarification from dietitian if needed.
• Maintains a clean and organized kitchen and work spaces.
• Complies with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintains accurate records including patient meal counts, temperatures, and food amounts prepared, food leftover.
• Operates cash register proficiently.

Job Description

The cook prepares and cooks food for patients, catering and the cafeteria. Complies with standard practices and regulatory guidelines to assure food is high quality and prepared in a safe manner. Shriners Spokane is looking for a PRN Cook to join the team!

The pay range for this position is $17.13-$23.75/hourly.

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
