Job summary

Shriners Children’s in Spokane, WA is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare, serve, and cater meals for patients, staff, and guests on-site. This role involves following planned menus, respecting allergies and diet orders, and ensuring food is ready at the right times.

You will maintain clean kitchen spaces, manage patient meal counts and inventory, and operate the cash register. A Washington State Food Workers Permit is required; ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares, serves, and caters food, beverages, and between-meal feedings to patients, staff and guests.
• Prepares menu items for cafeteria, events and patient trays.
• Ensures patient allergies and diet orders are followed; consults with dietitian when needed.
• Maintains clean and organized kitchen and work spaces; manages inventory and records (meal counts, temperatures, amounts).
• Operates cash register proficiently.
