Job summary

Asbury Communities is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes. You will help with batch cooking, maintain strict food safety standards, and support menu planning with the team.

The schedule is 3:00pm to 7:30pm, with every other weekend and occasional holidays; pay is $17 per hour. Prior cooking experience and the ability to read recipes are required; high school diploma or GED is preferred.

• Ability to read, understand and follow recipes
• Basic math for ingredients and quantities
• Culinary school training or ServSafe certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes according to recipes

Job Description

• Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes according to recipes and production sheets
• Assist in batch cooking items to ensure optimal food quality and consistency
• Maintain proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and service
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of ingredients and supplies
• Assist in menu planning and suggest new recipes or improvements to existing dishes

Qualifications

• 1+ year(s) cooking experience preferred
• High School diploma, GED or eqivalent preferred
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipes and production sheets accurately
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipe quantities
• Culinary school training, ServSafe certification or other relevant education are a plus
