Westmont Living’s The Oaks at Nipomo is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our senior living community. You will prepare meals that are appealing and meet dietary needs, while keeping a clean, safe kitchen.

We will train you and provide ongoing education in nutrition and kitchen safety.

Qualifications

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community.
• Must pass health screening such as Physical, TB, drug test.
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
• Attractively prepare meals that are appealing and tasty.
• Prepare special limited diets per policy.
• Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure they are served on time.
• Identify menu errors and bring changes to the Culinary Director’s/Culinary Coordinator’s attention.
• Ensure all menu changes are reviewed with the Culinary Director/Culinary Coordinator before changes are made; post menu change notice as required by regulations and policies and procedures.
• Keep kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly following cleaning schedule, including shelves and cooking surfaces.
