Job summary

Westmont Living seeks a compassionate Cook to join our assisted living and memory care community. You will attractively prepare meals, accommodate special diets, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen while ensuring timely meal service.

You will participate in health screenings and background checks as required, with opportunities for training and growth within a caring team environment. Competitive benefits and daily meal perks are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing meals that are appealing and within dietary guidelines.
• Ability to handle special diets per policy and adjust menus accordingly.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety, and sanitary standards.
• Must pass health screenings and background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure on-time service.
• Identify and communicate menu changes to culinary leadership.
• Maintain accurate records and post menu changes as required by regulations.
• Ensure all cooking surfaces and shelves are clean and orderly.
• Support training and development as needed.

What we need from you:

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community

• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test

• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.

• Attractively prepare meals that are appealing and tasty

• Prepare special limited diets per policy

• Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure they are served on time

• Identify menu errors and makes appropriate corrections as needed, bring the necessary changes to the Culinary Director's/Culinary Coordinator's attention

• Ensure all menu changes are reviewed with the Culinary Director/Culinary Coordinator before changes are made; post menu change notice as required by regulations and policies and procedures

• Keep kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly following cleaning schedule, including shelves and cooking surfaces
