Job summary

The Oaks at Paso Robles is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our assisted living and memory care community. You will prepare attractive, tasty meals, accommodate special diets, and ensure meals are served on time while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety.

Must pass health screenings and background checks; prior food service and basic first aid knowledge are a plus. We offer competitive pay, daily pay options, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire
• Attractively prepare meals that are appealing and tasty
• Prepare special limited diets per policy
• Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure they are served on time
• Identify menu errors and makes appropriate corrections as needed, bring the necessary changes to the Culinary Director’s/Culinary Coordinator’s attention
• Ensure all menu changes are reviewed with the Culinary Director/Culinary Coordinator before changes are made; post menu change notice as required by regulations and policies and procedures
• Keep kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly following cleaning schedule, including shelves and cooking surfaces
