Job summary

The Allure Group is seeking a dedicated Cook for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, NY. You will prepare meals in accordance with menus, ensure dietary requirements are met, and maintain sanitation standards. You will monitor temperatures, review diet orders from Nursing Services, and ensure supplies are stocked.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures.
• Food handler certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in quantities according to the menu and number of residents.
• Comply with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Monitor temperatures in refrigerators and freezers.
• Respect dietary restrictions and new diet orders from Nursing Services.
• Ensure adequate food and supplies for meals.
• Assist with inventory and storage of incoming food and supplies.

Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare food in quantities according to themenu, recipe, and number of persons to be served

• Comply with state, federal, and all otherapplicable health care, safety, and sanitation standards

• Monitor and record temperatures in refrigeratorsand freezers

• Inspect special dietary restrictions ofresidents to assure that the correct diet is served to residents

• Process diet changes and new diets as receivedfrom Nursing Services

• Ensure that food and supplies for meals are readilyavailable

• Assist in inventorying and storing in-comingfood, supplies, etc. as necessary

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent

• Knowledge of dietary procedures
• Food handlercertification

Preferred

• At least one-year dietary cook experience in ahospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facilities
