Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Myerstown Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our skilled nursing facility in Myerstown, PA.
In this role, you will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in accordance with planned menus and established portion control procedures while ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all food items for meal service.
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Prepare meals according to regular, therapeutic, and special diet orders.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and food production regulations.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served according to facility policies and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Dietary Department to provide exceptional meal service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One (1) year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Culinary school training preferred.
- Current ServSafe Certification required.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and therapeutic diets preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
