Job summary

The Gardens at York Terrace is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our Dietary Department at our skilled nursing facility in Pottsville, PA. This part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week) covers the evening shift and requires working every other weekend and three holidays per year.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, following recipes and dietary guidelines, maintaining a clean kitchen, and ensuring food safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous food service experience preferred; healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to providing quality service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with facility menus and dietary requirements.
• Follow standardized recipes and proper portion control procedures.
• Prepare food for regular, therapeutic, and special diets as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Assist with food preparation, storage, and inventory as needed.
• Support overall dietary department operations and meal service schedules.

• Part-Time (Approximately 20 Hours Per Week)

• Every Other Weekend Required (EOW)
• Required to Work 3 Holidays Per Year and Off 3 Holidays Per Year
