The Gardens at York Terrace is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our Dietary Department at our skilled nursing facility in Pottsville, PA. If you are passionate about preparing quality meals and making a positive impact on the lives of residents, we encourage you to apply.

Position Details

• Part-Time (Approximately 20 Hours Per Week)
• Evening Shift
• Every Other Weekend Required (EOW)
• Required to Work 3 Holidays Per Year and Off 3 Holidays Per Year

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with facility menus and dietary requirements
• Follow standardized recipes and proper portion control procedures
• Prepare food for regular, therapeutic, and special diets as directed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
• Assist with food preparation, storage, and inventory as needed
• Support overall dietary department operations and meal service schedules

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous food service experience preferred; healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to providing quality service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
