Loyalhanna Senior Suites in Latrobe, PA is hiring a Cook to join the Food & Nutrition Services team. You will prepare meals, follow planned menus, and ensure dietary guidelines and safety standards are met.
The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare kitchen, lift up to 50 pounds, and collaborate with dietitians and the interdisciplinary team to serve residents with nutritious meals.
Pay: $14.00-16.00 per hour (based on experience)

We are seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. Our cooks play an essential role in providing nutritious, appetizing meals that enhance the health and well-being of our residents. Prepare meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and therapeutic diet orders.
Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in accordance with dietary guidelines and food safety standards.
Review menus and special diet changes prior to meal preparation.
Inspect meal trays to ensure residents receive the correct diet.
Prepare attractive, nutritious meals and approved meal substitutions when necessary.
Assist with meal service, special events, and holiday meals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, cookware, and food preparation areas.
Monitor food temperatures, storage, labeling, and inventory.
Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food and supplies.
Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager, Dietitian, and interdisciplinary team to meet resident nutritional needs.
Follow all federal, state, local, and facility food service regulations and infection control procedures.
Minimum 8th-grade education required.
Previous experience cooking in healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional food service preferred.
Ability to prepare meals in large quantities.
Food Safety Handler Certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
Ability to assist during emergency situations when necessary.
