Pay Range

This range is provided by Pollak Innovative Management Partners. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$22.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Position Summary

The Cook performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department, including preparing meals correctly and timely, supervising staff, and is accountable to the Dietary Manager. In the absence of the Dietary Manager, the Cook oversees and supports the staff.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and portion hot and cold menu items according to recipes and production sheets.
2. Serve resident meals according to scheduled times.
3. Cover for staff absences due to illness.
4. Record food and equipment temperatures.
5. Interact with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction and proper service.
6. Maintain sanitation standards per state regulations.
7. Practice a clean, safe work environment.
8. Work flexible hours as needed.
9. Track inventory and communicate supply needs to the Dietary Manager.
10. Label, wrap, and date unused food items properly.
11. Support Pollak Innovation Management and facility policies and procedures.

In the absence of the Dietary Manager

1. Ensure staff clock in on time.
2. Discipline staff as needed.
3. Conduct daily huddle meetings for communication and direction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or Culinary Tech Graduate.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, production sheets, diet orders, and tray tickets.
• Ability to learn computer software for resident information.
• Serve Safe Certification or ability to earn within 90 days.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of dietary (healthcare) or restaurant experience.
