Job summary

Ashby Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. Prepare all served food, plan production to coordinate with meal serving hours, and memorize and follow recipes and portion sizes.

Adhere to sanitation and food handling codes, operate kitchen equipment safely, and maintain clean and organized work areas. This role requires the ability to stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment, read recipes, and respond to guest feedback with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Restaurant cook experience preferred, not required.
• ServSafe or Food Handler’s certification preferred, not required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Able to read and follow recipes.

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our team! Prepare all served food. Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours. Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions. Follow standard recipes and special diet orders. Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
• Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
• Season and cook food according to recipes.
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred, not required.
