Job summary

Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team in Yorktown, NY. You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes, following recipes and standards to ensure high-quality guest experiences.

Applicants should have prior restaurant cook experience, be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and hold ServeSafe or Food Handler certification or be willing to obtain it. A collaborative, fast-paced environment awaits.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe handling.
• Ensure freshness of food by checking quality and rotating stock.
• Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating ovens and grills.
• Season and cook food according to recipes or judgment.
• Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.

• Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
• Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
• Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
• Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
