Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepares hot and cold food for patients and cafe using approved menus and recipes.
• Assists with all aspects of meal preparation including stocking, cleaning, washing dishes, and dessert prep.
• Rolls silverware and assists with special events as directed by the Dietary Director.
• Cross-trains throughout the dietary department.

Summary: Prepares hot and cold food for patients and cafe food service using approved menus and recipes. Requires strong presentation skills and the ability to create appetizing dishes. Assists with all aspects of meal preparation, including stocking food and supplies, cleaning, washing dishes, preparing desserts, rolling silverware, and assisting with special events as directed by the Dietary Director. All employees are expected to cross train throughout the dietary department.

Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years of health care food service experience strongly preferred. ServSafe certification preferred; or must obtain within one year of employment. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Heavy emphasis on attention to detail and ability to think critically.
