Job Description

The Line Cook works with a team to provide excellent, delicious, and consistently prepared food in a fast-paced environment. The Line Cook/Prep Cook is proficient in cooking recipes at five stations and prepping all ingredients. Food safety and ServSafe procedures are essential, and each Line Cook must be familiar with these regulations. Maintaining a positive attitude during busy shifts and assisting team members and the Kitchen Manager are key. Great service, attitude, and teamwork are important traits.

Job Activities

• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service
• Cook menu items collaboratively with kitchen staff
• Clean stations and kitchen
• Manage inventory appropriately
• Ensure high-quality and timely food output
• Follow nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards
• Maintain professionalism with coworkers and customers
• Complete temperature logs and checklists for cleaning and maintenance
• Participate in all kitchen roles, including dishwashing when needed

Requirements

• Proven cooking experience, including as a line chef or prep cook
• Familiarity with kitchen terminology
• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
• Accuracy and speed in tasks
• Knowledge of industry best practices
• Willingness to pursue ServSafe certification is a plus
