Job summary

Pepi Foods is seeking a dependable kitchen helper in Americus, GA to prepare ingredients and assist in making homestyle meals for manufacturing employees. You will follow standardized recipes and portion controls while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with inventory checks, basic cooking tasks during busy shifts, and upholding HACCP food safety standards. This role offers day-to-evening shifts with weekend work and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a bonus but not required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a kitchen or food preparation role, preferably in a high-volume setting.
• Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for daily menu items, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and assembling salads or sides, following standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Assist in the preparation of homestyle meals tailored to the preferences and schedules of manufacturing employees.
• Ensure all food items are prepped in a timely manner to support efficient service during peak dining hours.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, adhering to Pepi Foods’ Gold Standard kitchen expectations (clean, labeled, and organized).
• Assist with inventory checks and communicate supply needs to the Dining Center Manager to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Support the kitchen team in basic cooking tasks, such as grilling, frying, or baking, as directed during busy shifts.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP guidelines, to ensure a safe dining environment.
• Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including proper use of kitchen equipment (e.g., knives, slicers, ovens) and personal protective equipment.
