Job summary

Carbel, now part of Arvato, is a fast-growing 3PL provider specializing in e-commerce and retail distribution. The Maintenance Technician supports operations at a high-volume distribution center, maintaining automated material handling equipment to ensure continuous flow and minimal downtime.

This role involves servicing conveyors, labeling systems, Jolly machines and boiler equipment, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures, and documenting repairs for reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Technical or technological degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field OR equivalent hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial or specialized equipment maintenance (warehouse, production, or automated equipment preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical equipment; diagnose, repair, and optimize complex automated machinery.
• Reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Familiarity with motors, sensors/photo-eyes, conveyors, and automated equipment preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and maintenance software (CMMS preferred) and generating technical reports.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
• Availability for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs as needed in an operating warehouse environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, motors, and drives.
• Maintain automated labeling / print & apply systems.
• Service Jolly machines and associated boiler/steam equipment.
• Diagnose sensor, photo-eye, and communication faults.
• Perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE).
• Respond to equipment stoppages and restore production flow quickly.
• Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to identify failures.
• Replace components including belts, rollers, bearings, motors, and pneumatic parts.
• Document repairs, parts usage, and downtime causes.
• Identify recurring failures and recommend reliability improvements.
• Follow lockout/tagout and all safety procedures.
• Schedule Monday - Friday 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
