Doherty Staffing Solutions in Sibley, IA is hiring a Converting Operator for the 3rd shift to run bag converting machinery producing SOS and satchel-bottom bags. You’ll monitor controls, perform quality checks, and keep production flowing in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include manufacturing experience preferred, ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 pounds, basic math and reading/writing, and a team-oriented attitude. Weekly pay and benefits options are available.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred; paper bag converting experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Basic math, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.
• Team-oriented attitude with the ability to train and support coworkers when needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate bag converting machinery to produce SOS and satchel-bottom bags.
• Monitor machine controls, make adjustments, and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Complete quality inspections and audits to ensure products meet specifications.
• Load and splice paper rolls, thread materials through the machine, and maintain production flow.
• Fill glue reservoirs, verify guards and tooling are in place, and ensure equipment is operating safely.
• Change rolls, make production adjustments, and assist team members as needed.
• Maintain a clean work area while meeting safety, productivity, and waste goals.
