Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring for a Bottoming Operator in Sibley, IA. The role pays $20.90 per hour with weekly payroll, on the 2nd shift (Monday–Friday) on a temporary basis.

You will set up bottoming machinery, operate equipment, monitor quality, and complete required documentation while maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Prior manufacturing or paper bag converting experience is helpful, and basic English literacy is required.

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Bottoming Operators for a paper bag manufacturing company in Sibly, Iowa. In this role, you'll help produce high-quality pinch-seal multiwall bags while ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards. If you enjoy hands-on manufacturing work, operating equipment, and working in a fast-paced production environment, this job could be a great fit.

What You'll Do as a Bottoming Operator

• Set up and adjust bottoming machinery to produce bags according to order specifications
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently to meet production goals
• Monitor product quality and inspect finished bags for compliance with specifications
• Complete quality audits, production records, and required documentation
• Perform minor machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting as needed
• Ensure adhesives, string, and other production supplies are available during runs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and assist in other production duties as assigned

What You Need to Bring to the Bottoming Operator Role

• Manufacturing experience preferred; paper bag converting experience is a plus
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in basic English
• Strong math skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift
• Ability to lift/carry 5-15 pounds frequently and up to 45 pounds occasionally
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures, work instructions, GMP, and SQF requirements
• Team-oriented attitude with flexibility to work in other plant areas as needed
