Job summary

United Future in the southwest suburban Atlanta area is seeking a skilled Controls Technician for the day shift (7:00am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri). You will design and integrate controls, build and program PLC panels, and get automated equipment up and running.

Responsibilities include pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC testing, and servicing automated production systems. The role requires diverse experience with sensors, analog controls, motor wiring, and safety circuits.

Qualifications

• Desire at least 6 years of related experience.
• PLC programming with confidence in using context clues within the PLC program.
• Comfortable programming a machine process from scratch.
• Comfortable wiring a 9-lead motor and stress testing windings.
• Identify data plate info for specing-out components like contactors, soft starters, and VFDs.
• Familiar with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, and dry contact.
• Analog control signals: 4-20mA and 0-10V.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting and panel building.
• Electrical experience and some robotic experience.
• Safety circuit integration and authorization to work in USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install air logic controls from prints or schematics for pneumatics.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits with valves, accumulators, cylinders, and flow controls.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems using a computer.
• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
• Use fabrication equipment knowledge to complete maintenance tasks.
• Operate or oversee equipment, analyze events, collaborate with engineers and production.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, upgrades, inspections, and repairs.
