Job summary

ASR Group is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our Buffalo refinery maintenance team. You will diagnose and repair PLCs, motors, control panels, and safety devices, performing preventative maintenance and updates using SAP work orders.

The role requires 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI, VFDs, and electrical schematics, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment on varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell programming preferred.
• Proficient with RSLogix, ladder logic, and PLC software basics.
• Familiar with NFPA70E and Arc Flash requirements.

Responsibilities

• Tests, diagnoses, and repairs PLCs, motors, control panels, transformers, and related equipment.
• Modifies electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components per specs.
• Diagnoses and fixes motor, electrical, and control malfunctions.
• Plan and record periodic testing; recommend part replacements as needed.
• Operate and program automated machinery including robots; verify repairs.
• Document changes and communicate with Supervisors, Managers, and Engineers.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on automation and process equipment.
• Create/modify SAP maintenance work orders.
