Job summary

ASR Group is seeking a Controls Technician to perform preventative and predictive maintenance across process control, monitoring, and safety equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems, read schematics, and work with engineering on design and modification tasks.

Ideal candidates have related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a Journeyman license, with the ability to work at heights and operate various control systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to properly use hand and power tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Understanding of how to properly/safely use rigging and hoist equipment.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.
• Must be able to work at heights above 20ft. (Aerial lifts).
• WonderWare/RSView interface and MMI programming.
• Initializing and troubleshooting VFD motor drive.
• Instrumentation and calibration support and training for electricians including ownership of calibration methods.
• Set-up & initialization of monitoring & control devices.
• Instrumentations and controls debugging.
• Start-up and qualification of control systems on new equipment.
• Execute controls projects under the guidance of engineering.
• Troubleshoot electrical controls related process issues.
• Support production uptime efforts and root cause determination of downtime events.

Responsibilities

• Consult diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards and codes.
• Install, configure, calibrate and maintain control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital).
• Configure and program Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC).
• Install and terminate electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections.
• Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
• Remove, repair, adjust and replace components.
• Calibrate components and systems.
• Assist Engineering in plant design, modification and hazard analysis.
• Maintain various computer-based control systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance programs.
