Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Solution Design Controls Engineer to help estimate controls solutions for customers within the Customer Service Solution Development team. You will understand conveyance and sortation applications, read schematics, and contribute to productivity improvements across sites.

The role requires 5+ years in controls engineering and material handling, with Rockwell RSLogix PLC programming, HMI and drive experience, and ability to travel up to 20% across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of controls engineering and material handling experience.
• Experience designing and commissioning automated material handling systems.
• Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix PLC programming.
• Understanding serial and Ethernet communications.
• Material Handling Equipment experience focusing on conveyance and sortation systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to forecast and manage multiple opportunities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Designs controls solutions for materials handling systems and customer applications.
• Reads schematics and PLC programs; follows up on technical details.
• Offers ideas for productivity improvements and cost reductions.
