Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Solution Design Controls Engineer to join our Customer Service Solution Development team. You will estimate controls solutions for conveyance and sortation projects and understand electrical controls hardware, programming and software integration.

You will read schematics and PLC programs, propose productivity improvements and provide training for staff. Expect travel to customer sites across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Understands design of materials handling systems with electrical controls, programming and software to estimate controls solutions.
• Reads schematics and PLC programs; follows up on technical details.
• Provides recommendations for productivity, cost reduction and customer satisfaction improvements.
• Conducts knowledge transfer for processes and product applications in system design.
• Performs standard professional work within the field.
• Addresses complex, unusual problems with team for proper controls solutions.
• Forecasts and reports project status; maintains deadlines.
• Travels 10% (max 20%) to customer sites across the United States.
