Job summary

Dematic is hiring a Solution Design Controls Engineer who understands convey and sort applications to join our Customer Service Solution Development team in estimating solutions for our customers.

You will design and estimate material handling systems with electrical controls hardware, PLCs, HMIs and drives; read schematics; and provide recommendations to improve productivity and reduce costs. Travel 10–20% to customer sites across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering required.
• 5+ years in controls engineering and material handling.
• Experience designing and commissioning automated material handling systems (electrical design, PLC, HMI, drives).
• Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix programming.

Responsibilities

• Understand the design of materials handling systems that integrate electrical controls hardware, programming, and software to estimate controls solutions.
• Read and comprehend schematics and PLC programs; follow up on technical details.
• Provide recommendations for productivity improvements, cost reductions, and customer satisfaction.
• Perform technical interchange and knowledge transfer for processes and product application.
• Discuss complex problems with team to provide proper controls solutions for customer requests.
• Travel up to 20% to different Customer and Dematic locations across the United States.
