Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Solution Design Controls Engineer to estimate controls solutions for conveyance and sortation systems. You will read schematics and PLC programs, specify material requirements, and propose productivity improvements for customers.

The role requires 5+ years in controls engineering and experience with Rockwell RSLogix, PLC, HMI, and drives, with 10–20% travel across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering.
• 5+ years experience in controls engineering & material handling.
• Experience designing & commissioning automated material handling systems (electrical design, PLC, HMI, drives).
• Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix PLC programming.
• Ability to concept solutions and generate estimates to support Sales requests.

Responsibilities

• Understand design of material handling systems integrating electrical controls hardware, programming and software to estimate controls solutions for customers.
• Completes material specification, reads schematics and PLC programs; follows up on technical details.
• Makes recommendations for productivity improvements, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
• Performs technical interchange and knowledge transfer for processes and product applications.
• Discusses complex problems with team to provide proper controls solutions for customer requests.
• Travels 10% (max 20%) to different Customer and Dematic locations across the United States.
