Job summary

Nusano in West Valley City, UT is seeking a Controls Software Engineer to own end-to-end controls software for distributed systems. You will design, develop, validate, and support PLC, HMI/SCADA, and networking components in a full-time onsite role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, CE, or related field.
• Experience developing controls software in industrial/scientific settings.
• Proficiency with IEC 61131-3 languages.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software and UI/UX practices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, testing, integration of controls software for medium-complexity systems.
• Create/modify PLC software per specs and standards.
• Design and improve HMI/SCADA apps with UX and safety in mind.
• Collaborate with operations, engineers to integrate hardware and software.
• Integrate PLC software with server-based control systems (EPICS/SCADA).
• Troubleshoot PLCs, networks, interfaces, and hardware/software.
• Apply networking protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus, RS-232/485) to design.
• Participate in hazard analyses and safety-related reviews.
• Develop design docs, test plans, training materials, and knowledge base.
• Mentor Associate engineers and communicate risks clearly.
