Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineering Manager in Michigan. You will lead the controls hardware/software group within Industrials, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and engineering excellence across PLCs, motion control, and vision systems.

The role reports to the Vice President of Controls Engineering. You will guide a cross-functional team, maintain PEM processes, stay current with industry trends, and drive standardized templates globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in controls hardware/software for industrial projects.
• Proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
• Travel availability within US and Canada as needed.
• Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and regulatory alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the controls design group to hit targets, budgets and timelines.
• Enforce engineering processes and standardized tools across units.
• Drive technology research and implement innovative automation solutions.
• Manage resources, capacity, and staffing for projects.
• Mentor team members and support recruitment and onboarding.
• Collaborate with sales, applications, and design teams on solutions.
